Prologue to my darling
Ole Brumm
A highly loved Collie.
You were a dog that
filled my dreams: loving, bright, sound and
good looking and no one can ever take your place in my
heart.
You were mum's dog from the second you were born, and from
you could walk you followed me as my shadow. You always
wanted to be close to me, we were the best of friend and you
trusted me 100% and l you.
You often came with me to
my job or in other situations and nothing could scare you.
You never caused any problems and you meet people in a
friendly way.
When we were out
walking you rarely run off with the gang, you walked with me. It was "me and you" taking the gang for a
walk! :) If we were sitting down you wanted to be
nearest to me. You were the boss in the gang so the other
dogs
respected you. You were my helping hand and the kennels
"police-man". Any trouble between the girls you stopped by
going in between the fighters, you disciplined the one that misbehaved
and caused the disagreement, but never too hard. You were
also a perfect
playmate for both pups and children,
a good dog to be
trusted.
When you hurt your
back legs you understood mum had to help you walking, but
still you wagged your tail. Together we made you walk again,
but you never fully recovered. As you got older you put more
weight on your front legs and gradually your knees also
started to trouble you. The last summer mum didn't take you
along for the long walks and it was sad to leave you behind.
But we two had our small walks alone and also you loved to
come with mum in the car. But in the end you would not go the gate to
salute our visitors, you just sat still where you were and
barked to say hello.
It was time to go to move on to a place where there is no pain.
Ole Brumm, mum miss you sooooo much.
You live in my heart till we
meet at the Rainbow Bridge.
